54°13′N 20°10′E / 54.217°N 20.167°E / 54.217; 20.167Borowiec [bɔˈrɔvjɛt͡s] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pieniężno, within Braniewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) east of Pieniężno, 29 km (18 mi) south-east of Braniewo, and 53 km (33 mi) north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, and in 1772–1945 it belonged to Prussia and Germany (East Prussia).
