Istanbul Medeniyet University (Turkish: İstanbul Medeniyet Üniversitesi) is a public university located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, Turkey. It was established on 21 July 2010 as the 98th university of Turkey and the ninth state university in Istanbul, under Law No. 6005 published in the Official Gazette.[2]

The university has eleven faculties, two schools, three graduate institutes, and seventeen research centers. Its main campuses are in Üsküdar and Kadıköy, along the D-100 highway.

Rankings

Istanbul Medeniyet University was ranked among the top 1000 universities worldwide in the 2022 Times Higher Education ranking.[3] According to the 2023 URAP field-based university rankings, the university was ranked 69th in its only covered scientific field, the lowest among Istanbul's public universities.[4]

Library

The university hosts the Ziraat Bank Library, whose foundation was laid in November 2018 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The library is one of Turkey's largest, covering 28,000 square meters and is planned to serve with up to one million books.[5][6]

  • **Göztepe South Campus:** Located in Kadıköy, home to the Faculty of Letters, Graduate Institute of Education, and various facilities.
  • **Göztepe North Campus:** Hosts the Ziraat Bank Library, central classrooms, and faculties such as Medicine, Engineering, Islamic Sciences, Law, and Fine Arts.
  • **Health Campus:** Houses the university hospital (Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital) in Kadıköy.
  • **Cevizli Campus:** Used for the Faculty of Health Sciences.
  • **Orhanlı Campus:** Located in Tuzla, home to the School of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Tourism.
  • **Altunizade Campus:** For additional administrative and academic units.
